HydroRecycle® by NWPX Park is an underground water reclaim system designed specifically for car washes. This packaged solution combines a filtration system with a sand-oil separator to collect, filter, and reuse wash water while also pretreating wastewater before discharge to the sewer system.
Turner Chevrolet in Crosby, Texas, is installing a HydroRecycle system as part of an expansion to its dealership, adding new car wash facilities. The system was delivered as a complete package and includes a 2,500-gallon precast reclaim tank and a 1,000-gallon OilTrooper® Oil-Water Separator.
The reclaim tank is engineered with three baffled compartments that slow the velocity of wash water, allowing sand and grit to settle at the bottom while filtered water rises to the top. Fresh water introduced during the rinse cycle displaces the treated wash water, which is then further polished for reuse.
Any water unsuitable for reuse continues to the OilTrooper® SOCMP-1000 model separator, which is equipped with a patented Coalescing Media Pack (CMP). The CMP is a series of closely spaced corrugated plates that attract and coalesce oil droplets, effectively removing them from the wastewater to ensure compliant discharge to the sanitary sewer system. This oil-water separator includes a high oil sensor and alarm panel, a steel hatchway for easy access, a coal-tar epoxy interior liner and exterior bitumastic coating, and a sample well.
Delivered pre-plumbed and ready for connection to existing inlet and outlet piping, the HydroRecycle package streamlines installation. With support from our crane truck, NWPX Park assisted Jovisa Construction in placing the components quickly and efficiently—completing the tank and separator installation in just a few hours while saving on equipment rental and labor costs.
The HydroRecycle system provides Turner Chevrolet with an economical, reliable solution for water reuse and wastewater management that will deliver long-term performance for their new car wash operation.
