Humble High School, part of the Humble Independent School District located north of Houston, serves more than 2,900 students. As part of a phased renovation project modernizing and expanding its campus to support growing enrollment, the school is adding four new science labs.
Wastewater from the new laboratory facilities is managed by NWPX Park’s LabTank® Model ANT-2500, a 2,500-gallon acid neutralization system designed for belowground installation. The turnkey pretreatment solution includes a precast concrete tank with a protective interior and exterior HDPE lining, a pH monitoring panel, integrated leak detection sensors, audible and visual alarms, and a precast sample well.
Inside the tank, Labrox® calcium carbonate media neutralizes acidic wastewater as it flows from the laboratory sinks, bringing the pH to a safe and compliant level before discharge into the sanitary sewer system. The system’s locking ductile iron ring cover provides safe maintenance access, while the durable lined-precast construction ensures long-term performance.
By integrating the NWPX Park LabTank® into its wastewater infrastructure, Humble High School is enhancing its expanded science lab facilities with a dependable, low-maintenance solution that protects equipment, ensures code compliance, and helps provide a safe learning environment for students and faculty.
