Tech Talk: Pump Lift Stations

June 29, 2026

How do packaged pump lift stations compare to traditional lift station systems in terms of installation speed and operational performance?

Packaged pump lift stations are designed to reduce the time, labor, and uncertainty associated with installing a conventional lift station. Unlike traditional systems, which require contractors to procure and assemble components from multiple suppliers in the field, a packaged lift station arrives factory assembled and tested as a complete system. This minimizes onsite assembly, simplifies installation, and accelerates project timelines.

From an operational standpoint, performance depends on proper system design, controls, and component selection. PumpTrooper® Lift Stations are custom engineered to meet each project’s hydraulic requirements, with NWPX Park providing support for pump selection, wet well sizing, and piping configuration. Automated controls start and stop pumps based on system demand while providing visual and audible alarms to notify operators of abnormal conditions. Integrated safety features, including hatchway safety nets, further enhance maintenance safety.

For contractors, a packaged system means a faster, more predictable installation. For owners and operators, it means a reliable lift station that’s easier to monitor, maintain, and operate over the long term.
